Seiler of Posigrade Creations commissioned me to do a 1:6 scale sculpture
of the monster from the Roger Corman B-movie It
Conquered the World.
This was a time-consuming but ultimately rewarding project. I never would
have tackled this subject matter on my own, and I gained new respect for
the creature's creator, the amazing Paul Blaisdell. He created a number
of interesting monsters for Roger Corman B-movies, including Invasion
of the Saucer Men.
The monster's nickname was Beulah!
There are a number

(highest rating) in the latest Amazing Figure Modeler. "Between
the psuedo-devil horns, barnacle-encrusted crab claw arms, peep hole divot,
forked tongue and fang-lined overbit mouth, Dan Perez really came through
with an accurate and inspired sculpt." Read
the entire review here.
Beulah is the Modeler's
Resource Fall 2003 cover story!
Here's
movie memorabilia legend Bob Burns himself holding my copy of the Beulah!
The
Beulah model is now a part of Bob Burns' incredible movie memorabilia
museum in California! Check out this

Note the
little batlike "drone" at bottom. Below is a comparison between
the Billiken Beulah kit and my version. Mine is over a foot tall!
