one
of the most successful horror/comedy genre related films was Ghostbusters
and Slimer,
the michievousgreen ghost, was one of its most popular characters. This
oozy, squishy blob of ectoplasm must have made quite an impession on sculptor
Dan Perez because this release is his second version of Slimer
and is based more on the special effects maquette done by Steve Johnson
than on the final versions seen in the movie. From the bulbous body to
the crooked teeth to the spindly appendages, Dan Perez hasd captured every
nuance of the character perfectly. The proportion and detailing are great:
Dan did a nice job of adding texture and veining to the skin. Building
this kit was a breeze: the castings were clean, and with minimal sanding
and priming, this bad boy nwas ready to go. Due to the thin and brittle
nature of the arms and hands, I would recommend pinning them to the body
for added stability. I always love seeing a true fan/producer's enthusiasm
spill over into the production of a kit--you can tell Dan really had his
heart in this project; he even gives you three pages of detailed instructions
to achieve the perfect Slimer!
If you're a fan of the original movie or are just looking for a humorous
kit the whole family could enjoy, "who ya gonna call?" Why,
Dan Perez Studios, of course!
