much for the movie The
Relic but I loved the monster from it, called the Kothoga.
This Stan Winston creation was first realized as a small (12") Revell/Monogram
vinyl kit, which I built, but then I acquired the massive Hogan's Bones
version, cast in resin and measuring 24 inches long. The kit was a pain
in the ass to build and paint, but the results were worth it (I also had
a horrible painting disaster on this one mere hours before Wonderfest,
but managed to fix the problem). I added a wild thatch of hair since the
Hogan's Bones version was exaggerated. I won a Silver Award at Wonderfest
for this one, so all the work and panic was worth it.
