Pf you're a fan of the Sci Fi Channel's hit series Farscape, you've probably got a favorite character by now. And while Crichton and Aeryn Sun and the rest are fun, my favorite is the Dominar Rygel, a cranky, scheming pipsqueak of an alien who is always selling out the ship's crew and farting helium. He's one of the coolest muppets to come from the Henson Creature Shop since Yoda was unveiled, and I finally got started on a sculpture of him. I'll post in-progress pictures here fairly often, and what you see below is my main reference photo and a pic of the roughed-in head. The head measures about five inches tall, and I estimate the scale is about 1:3.
The eyes are craft store pearls. Keep scrolling down to follow his progress.

Update: Rygel's head is complete! Scroll down to the bottom to see the finished head. It doesn't really take me five months to complete a head, but I've been working on numerous other projects (including molding and casting the Slimer) as well.

1. January 14 (roughed in)
2. January 20 (refining mouth and chin area)

3. January 28 (refined cheeks, eyes and brows)

4. February 23 (applying final detailing and skin textures)

May 9 (below) The head is finished!
