Using the mini spatula and spoon tool is a great way to apply fine detail to sculptures, from 1/3 scale on down.

Use the mini spatula end for shaping rounded, contoured details like lips, eyelids. Roll the flat of the spatula across the surface fo the clay to shape the contours. It's also great for applying teeny tiny bits of clay to the sculpt to build up an area very precisely.

Use the mini spoon tool for shaping curved areas like the corner of the mouth and eyelids. You can also use the spoon tool to excavate small bits of clay from crevices where you can't get a larger tool. It's good for shaping nostrils, too!
